Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) is a public-spirited center of excellence established in 2015. It aims to make distinctive contributions to society through teaching, research innovation, and holistic development. The University was gazetted in May 2015 as a constituent college of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and has since grown into a standalone institution dedicated to academic excellence.
As a Lecturer (Grade 12) specializing in Computer Science, the successful candidate will provide high-quality academic instruction and contribute significantly to the university's research output. The role involves teaching, supervising student research, engaging in community service, and participating in the administrative growth of the Computer Science department.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate learning through lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for undergraduate and potentially postgraduate students in Computer Science.
Conduct high-quality original research and publish findings in peer-reviewed, refereed journals.
Supervise student projects and research work at various levels.
Participate in the development and review of the Computer Science curriculum to ensure it meets modern industry standards.
Contribute to community service initiatives and outreach programs on behalf of the university.
Undertake administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Department or Faculty Dean.
Requirements
An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Computer Science or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized University; OR
A Master's degree qualification in special cases with at least three (3) years of university teaching experience or research in a relevant area.
Must be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
A minimum of twenty-four (24) publications, with at least sixteen (16) being from refereed journal papers.
Demonstrable evidence of community service.
