Kisii University is seeking a Lecturer in General Surgery. The role aims to train high-level human resources that meet the development needs of the country and international labor market, while sustaining high-quality research, consultancy, and dissemination of knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and assess courses in medical physiology to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Supervise postgraduate students in their academic and research work.
Initiate, promote, and participate in various research projects.
Attend and contribute to seminars, workshops, and conferences within relevant fields.
Participate in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental curricula.
Active involvement in Departmental and School Board meetings and other university activities.
Conduct community service and establish professional linkages.
Execute any other official duties assigned by the supervisor.

Self-motivated and highly disciplined.
Excellent command of the subject area, including adept lesson planning.
Capable of managing ambiguity and emotional situations.
Adaptability to technological changes.
Excellent communication, listening, and mediation skills.

Outstanding presentation and research writing skills.
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience
A relevant Bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.
A Master's degree or its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized University/College is mandatory.
A PhD in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
Previous teaching experience is preferred.
Must be registered by a relevant professional body.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution.
