Maseno University is seeking a qualified Lecturer in Fisheries Science and Aquaculture for the Department of Animal and Fisheries Sciences. This academic role is centered on delivering high-quality education, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the university's mission of academic excellence in the aquatic sciences sector.
Responsibilities
Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Fisheries Science and Aquaculture.
Develop and review academic curricula to ensure alignment with modern scientific and industrial trends.
Conduct original scientific research and disseminate findings through high-impact publications.
Supervise student research projects, providing mentorship and academic guidance.
Participate in departmental administrative duties and university-wide committees.
Engage in outreach and professional collaboration within the fisheries and aquaculture industry.
Requirements and Qualifications
An earned PhD or equivalent degree in Fisheries Science, Aquaculture, or a closely related field from an accredited and recognized University.
Alternatively, candidates with a Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited university may be considered in special cases, provided they have at least three (3) years of university-level teaching, research, or relevant industry experience.
A mandatory minimum of two (2) publications in refereed journal papers.
Registration with a relevant professional body, where such a body exists.
