Job Description
Kisii University is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Clinical Medicine to join its academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and assessing courses in medical physiology for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Beyond instruction, the role involves student supervision, curriculum development, and active participation in research and community service projects.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and assess courses in medical physiology to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Supervise postgraduate students in their research work.
Initiate, promote, and participate in research projects.
Attend and contribute to seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of departmental curricula.
Engage in departmental and School Board meetings and other administrative tasks.
Conduct community service and establish professional linkages.
Execute any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Personal Attributes
Proficient in computer skills and adaptable to technological changes.
Self-motivated, highly disciplined, and capable of managing ambiguity.
Excellent command of the subject area with strong lesson planning abilities.
Strong communication, listening, and mediation skills.
Proven ability in fundraising, grant writing, and research publication.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
A relevant Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.
A Master’s degree or its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized University/College is mandatory.
A PhD in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
Previous teaching experience is preferred.
Must be registered by a relevant professional body.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution.
