Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Lecturer in Biology (Grade 12). The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, conducting research, and providing academic leadership within the department.
Responsibilities
Teaching and conducting tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Developing curricula and course materials in the field of Biology.
Engaging in original research and contributing to the university's research output.
Publishing research findings in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
Supervising student projects and research work.
Participating in departmental and university administrative committees.
Engaging in community outreach and professional development activities.
Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following two sets of criteria:
Option 1:
An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Biology or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
Registration or eligibility for registration by the relevant professional body (where applicable).
Option 2:
A Master’s degree in Biology or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university (considered in special cases).
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level.
Common Requirements for all applicants:
A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, with at least sixteen (16) of them from refereed journal papers.
Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
