Role Overview\n\nThe Leakage Scouting Operator is tasked with minimizing water losses across the supply network of Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC). This involves the detection, monitoring, and facilitation of timely repairs for physical leaks, alongside identifying commercial losses such as illegal connections and bypasses. The role is critical for improving operational efficiency, ensuring accurate billing, and supporting Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction initiatives.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n- Conduct active surveys utilizing acoustic and advanced leak detection technologies.\n- Efficiently operate leak scouting and detection equipment and specialized vans.\n- Perform routine patrols, inspections, and monitoring of pipelines, valves, and fittings to identify leakage.\n- Track and monitor detected leaks to ensure they are repaired in a timely manner.\n- Execute incidental pipe tracing, location, and mapping as required.\n- Detect and report illegal connections and by-passes through pipe tracing requests.\n- Generate and provide daily and periodic operational reports.\n- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n\n- Must possess a Certificate of Science, Technology, or Engineering in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or Instrumentation.\n- Alternatively, a Trade Test II in Plumbing or a related field from a recognized learning institution is acceptable.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates should submit applications including a curriculum vitae, copies of academic certificates, relevant testimonials, and contacts of three (3) referees (one of whom must be a current or former Employer).
