This is the entry and training grade for this cadre within the Machakos County Public Service. An officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer to facilitate land surveying activities and geographical data collection. The primary focus is on assisting in field measurements and basic computations for topographical and boundary surveys.
Duties and Responsibilities
Measurement & Computation: Carrying out angular and distance measurements and computation for low-density topographical surveys.
Boundary Surveys: Assisting in conducting general boundary surveys to define land limits.
Field Support: Supporting senior surveyors in the field with equipment setup and data collection.
Technical Documentation: Assisting in the basic processing of survey data for report preparation.
Requirements for Appointment
Education: A Diploma in Land Surveying or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Technical Skills: Certificate in computer applications skills.
Grade: This is an entry-level position (Grade III) intended for training and career development within the county's technical services.
