Equity Afia is seeking a qualified and experienced Laboratory Technologist to be stationed at their Pangani clinic in Nairobi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality standards to deliver high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to patients.
Key Responsibilities
Perform medical laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently.
Maintain, calibrate, and sterilize laboratory equipment and instruments.
Implement and monitor Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS) initiatives.
Record, analyze, and report laboratory test results using Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Ensure safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols are strictly followed in the laboratory.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support patient care and diagnostics.
Requirements and Qualifications
Degree in Laboratory Sciences or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
At least three (3) years of working experience in a busy medical laboratory.
Registered and currently licensed by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
Trained in and demonstrates a clear understanding of Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS) initiatives.
Proficiency in computer skills, specifically with Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
