Role Overview
Kitchen Support Experts play an important role in support of several hotel functions. These associates may work across departments (e.g., kitchen, food and beverage, employee dining room) to support hotel needs. The role involves administrative tasks, record-keeping, and ensuring the smooth operation of kitchen-related office activities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Administrative Support: Enter and retrieve information contained in computer databases using a keyboard, mouse, or trackball to update records and files. Operate standard office equipment other than computers.
Documentation: Prepare letters, memos, and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software.
Records Management: Create and maintain computer- and paper-based filing and organization systems for records, reports, and documents. Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities and business transactions.
Safety & Security: Follow all company safety and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications.
Professional Standards: Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
Guest Relations: Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards. Speak with others using clear and professional language.
Team Collaboration: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support the team to reach common goals.
Operations: Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
Work Experience: Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in a similar role.
Environment: Experience in a hotel or luxury service environment (4- or 5-Star hotel is highly desirable).
