Job Description
Java House is seeking a Branch Supervisor for its Nakuru location. Since 1999, Java House has been a leader in the coffee and gourmet café culture in Kenya and is expanding across East Africa. The Branch Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all restaurant policies, procedures, standards specifications, and guidelines are followed and completed on a timely basis. The role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring a high-quality guest experience while maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines are followed.
Ensure compliance with health and safety, food preparation, serving, repair, and maintenance standards.
Achieve company objectives in sales, service quality, and facility appearance through employee training and motivation.
Organize and supervise regular branch deep cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
Adhere to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies.
Prevent, handle, and resolve complaints regarding food quality and service.
Sample food and drink items through regular store audits to ensure palatability and flavor conformity.
Prevent and resolve personnel problems and maintain a productive working environment.
Minimize guest complaints by ensuring 95% of time is spent on floor coverage.
Ensure set SOPs for cash handling are strictly followed.
Manage takeaway and delivery orders to ensure accuracy and timely dispensing.
Ensure prompt billing and that correct change is provided to guests.
Engage in suggestive selling and the introduction of new products to guests.
Maintain high hygiene standards at the cashier station and ensure cutlery is well-polished and displayed.
Oversee the dining area and supervise food and beverage service staff.
Seek, listen, and respond to guest feedback.
Requirements and Qualifications
Educational Qualification: BA/BSc/HND.
Ability to communicate clearly in English.
Ability to review and understand P&L (Profit and Loss) statements.
Competence in handling money and operating a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong coordination skills and high ethical standards.
Result-oriented, self-driven, articulate, and proactive.
Ability to make quick and sound decisions.
