Peoplelink Consultants Ltd is a consultancy services company incorporated under the laws of Kenya. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team in a hybrid capacity. The successful candidate will manage our technical infrastructure, specifically focusing on ERP systems and network security within a manufacturing environment.
Role Overview
The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of central systems and communications infrastructure, implementing ICT projects, and formulating ICT policies. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in network administration, database management, and project management to support the company’s corporate and business plans.
Key Responsibilities
ERP & Database Management: Administer Oracle ERP applications and databases, providing necessary training and support to users.
ICT Projects: Lead the implementation of various ICT projects including network, security, software, hardware, and specific application projects.
Infrastructure Operations: Ensure smooth operations of the central systems and communications infrastructure.
Strategy & Policy: Implement the IT strategic plan in support of corporate goals and formulate the company’s ICT policies.
System Security: Ensure the security and integrity of all systems and equipment at all times.
Asset & Network Management: Manage ICT asset allocation, configure, monitor, and maintain the Local Area Network (LAN).
Procurement & Contracts: Select IT service providers, manage contracts, and handle the procurement of ICT equipment.
Support Services: Assist Senior Management with online tendering processes and provide support for audio and video teleconferencing.
Key Competencies
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and IT hardware/software.
Expertise in data management and data governance.
Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and installation.
Agile project management skills.
Experience installing and managing both wired and wireless LAN, and firewalls.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: A Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical work experience.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP deployment, support, and usage.
Certifications: CCNA certification is desired; MCSE or equivalent experience is required.
Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in IT Support, specifically within a manufacturing setup.
