Role Overview
AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a leading multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is seeking an International Freight Forwarding Operator for its Sea Exports Department in Nairobi. The successful candidate will manage daily operational relationships with clients and handle the end-to-end processing of export documentation and shipment files.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Receive orders from clients and manage day-to-day operational communication.
Request missing documentation or detailed instructions from clients as needed.
Provide real-time updates to clients regarding file processing progress.
Proactively resolve client queries.
File Processing Management
Update clients and the IFFOS on file progress; maintain status updates in the monitoring software.
Process all necessary export documentation for shipments.
Book cargo with various shipping lines.
Coordinate transport for the delivery of containers for stuffing or Port of Receipt (POR).
Liaise with shipping lines to track vessel arrivals.
Manage financial documentation by following up on invoices, attaching them to relevant files, and submitting them for approval.
Maintain system updates and ensure both physical and electronic archiving of files.
Verify that all client files contain required attachments and copies.
Management Communication
Alert clients regarding potential or actual operational issues.
Escalate unresolved issues to the IFFOS.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding. A BA/BSc/HND or Professional Certificate is required.
Certification: An East Africa Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate (EACFFPC) is an added advantage.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Clearing and Forwarding (C&F).
