Job Description
The ICT Supervisor is responsible for providing team leadership in the design, development, and implementation of University Management Information Systems (MIS). This role ensures the seamless operation of all university ICT infrastructure, including networks, server systems, and enterprise software like Microsoft Navision ERP and Learning Management Systems (LMS). The supervisor will oversee technical support for students and staff while maintaining data security, conducting system audits, and managing the ICT budget and hardware inventory.
Responsibilities
Provide team leadership in the design, development, and implementation of the university management information systems (MIS).
Deliver professional first-line technical support for LMS, Microsoft Navision ERP, and SMIS to students and staff.
Manage and ensure the smooth running of campus network infrastructure, internet services, server infrastructure, CCTV security, firewalls, and virtual environments.
Administer O365, email services, print services, library systems, and staff management systems.
Plan, organize, and manage ICT processes, including evaluating technology projects and services.
Develop and implement ICT policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring institutional compliance.
Manage ICT staff performance and provide a safe, effective work environment.
Oversee the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and software systems.
Maintain updated documentation for networks, servers, and other system assets.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis and recommend technology solutions as required.
Develop system recovery and business continuity plans for emergencies or power failures.
Participate in university committees and act as a technical resource for other departments.
Carry out regular system audits on software utilization and viability.
Implement and improve data security protocols, including firewalls, user access rights, and backups.
Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software licenses, and IT assets.
Provide regular activity and monthly ICT reports.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Minimum of eight (8) years of working experience, with at least five (5) years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a university or similar institution.
Experience in software development using Node.js, React JS, and Django Rest framework.
Broad knowledge of industry standards and best practices for technology in higher education.
Industry professional certification in database administration, software development, or systems and network management.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
