Purpose of the Job
The ICT & Database Assistant is responsible for securing the Scheme’s ICT Systems through continuous risk assessment and the development of risk mitigation mechanisms. The role involves working closely with the Senior ICT Officer to enhance information security and implement the broader IT strategy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior ICT Officer to develop and implement information security plans and strategies.
- Execute the IT strategy and conduct continuous assessments of current IT security practices to identify improvement areas.
- Perform periodic security audits, risk assessments, and technical vulnerability assessments of IT systems and processes.
- Implement next-generation security technology and solutions.
- Respond rapidly and effectively to IT security incidents, including managing computer forensics for evidence gathering and page preservation.
- Coordinate regular Information Security Reviews and provide recommendations to minimize identified risks.
- Maintain the Scheme's website and social media platforms, ensuring they are up to date.
- Develop and deliver high-quality Information Security guidance documentation and training programs to promote security awareness.
- Liaise with external security agencies and the National Police Service Cyber Crime Unit as necessary.
- Provide first- and second-line functional support for the ERP system (Dynamics 365 Business Central), resolving user issues and escalating complex incidents to vendors.
- Support ERP optimization through configuration, managing user access, and gathering requirements for enhancements.
- Ensure server and system installations adhere to ICT standards, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor ICT licenses to ensure they are valid and up to date.

Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent degree from a recognized university.
- A minimum of three (3) years of working experience in IT.
- Professional Certification in Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Possession of relevant certifications such as Functional Consultant Associate, MCSA, CCNA, CISSP, CISA, CEH, ITIL, or PRINCE2.
- Practical knowledge of servers, infrastructure, networking, database administration, and ITIL.
- Understanding of business and operational processes including potential cybersecurity risks.
- Thorough understanding of social media and web analytics.
