Role Overview
The HR Generalist (HRG) will be directly responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department for specific Vivo functions and Shop Zetu. You will oversee all aspects of human resources processes and practices throughout the employee life cycle. This involves leading and managing the people and culture agenda of the programme; recruiting the right talent, enhancing staff performance, supporting employee development, and creating strong relationships with all key stakeholders of the initiative and championing change initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to execute HR strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
You will take part in decision-making to support the organization in the creation of a result-oriented culture. You will work hand in hand with other departmental heads to identify, understand, and provide practical solutions to HR challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Conducting interviews for business unit positions and making referrals to hiring managers, ensuring efficient turn-around activity.
- Guiding hiring managers on writing job profiles and developing job descriptions.
Performance Improvement
- Constantly ensuring job descriptions are reviewed and updated.
- Identifying trends and recommending solutions to improve employee performance, retention, and development.
Learning and Development
- Ensuring onboarding training for all new employees; conducting orientation sessions for new employees to explain personnel policies, compensation, and benefits programs.
- Maintaining documentation of all learning activities ensuring the knowledge base is accessible to all.
Employee Relations
- Communicating the disciplinary process effectively, including warnings, appeals, etc.
- Handling staff grievances and disciplinary action processes in accordance with Vivo’s policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment law and full confidentiality.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintaining good working relationships with line managers and the Senior Management Team.
- Staying abreast of developments in HR trends and sharing information with the Senior Management Team as needed.
Project Management
- Participating in company projects.
- Creating tools and templates to facilitate departmental effectiveness.
Reporting
- Submitting weekly/monthly performance reports as directed by the HR Manager.
- Generating monthly absenteeism reports for the specific business unit.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or its equivalent from a recognized university.
- At least 5-8 years experience in Human Resource Management / Administration in recognized organizations.
- Sound knowledge of Labor Laws and Employment Act 2007.
- An active member of a relevant professional body with a confirmed good standing record.
- Tech savvy.
