The Head of Groups, Banks and Saccos is responsible for defining and executing the strategy for the Groups and SACCO Banking segment in alignment with Retail Banking objectives. This senior leadership role aims to drive growth, revenue, and segment profitability while expanding and deepening relationships with Groups, SACCOs, cooperatives, and related institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Execution: Define and execute the Groups and SACCO Banking strategy to drive growth, revenue, and segment profitability.
Relationship Management: Expand and deepen relationships with Groups, SACCOs, cooperatives, and related institutions to enhance portfolio value and customer lifetime engagement.
Financial Solution Design: Lead the design and delivery of tailored financial solutions ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with evolving customer needs across the segment lifecycle.
Market Insight: Monitor market trends, customer insights, and emerging opportunities to position the segment as a leader in financial inclusion and innovation.
Portfolio Management: Oversee portfolio performance management, including target-setting, analytics, arrears management, and implementation of initiatives to optimize returns.
Strategic Partnerships: Build and sustain strategic partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, private sector actors, regulators, and industry bodies to support market expansion.
Customer Experience: Drive customer experience excellence by ensuring effective service level agreements and seamless coordination across value-chain stakeholders.
Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop the Groups and SACCO Banking team, fostering a performance-driven culture anchored on innovation and accountability.
Resource Planning: Ensure efficient planning and utilization of resources to support business delivery, capability development, and operational effectiveness.
Governance and Risk: Strengthen governance, risk management, and compliance by identifying key risks, reviewing audit outcomes, enforcing controls, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
Minimum Position Qualification Requirements
Academic & Professional
Bachelor's Degree from a recognised Institution.
Professional Qualification in Project Management or a business field is an added advantage.
Master's Degree in Business is an added advantage.
Experience
8 years of total working experience.
6 years of working experience in People Management.
6 years of working experience in the Financial Industry/Banking.
4 years of working experience in Sales.
4 years of working experience in SACCOs & Co-operatives.
4 years of working experience in Portfolio Management.
4 years of working experience in Customer Care / Relationship Management.
2 years of working experience in Credit Appraisal.
4 years of working experience in Product Development (Added Advantage).
