Housing Finance Company of Kenya, the premier mortgage finance institution in Kenya, is seeking a Senior Relationship Manager for Liabilities. This is a strategic role responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow and maintain a robust customer deposit portfolio, ensuring the delivery of business targets in accordance with the department’s annual performance plans.
Principle Accountabilities
Strategy
Responsible for developing a detailed strategy to grow and maintain a customer deposit portfolio that ensures delivery of business targets.
Support the drive of deposit growth and identify new business opportunities.
Manage deposits for business banking customers, with accountability for sales, service, risk, operational delivery, and acquisition of new to bank customers.
Business Development
Effectively execute agreed business development and growth strategies in accordance with the Bank’s long, medium, and short-term plans.
Conduct active portfolio management and development by maintaining and growing existing income sources and meeting set targets for new business.
Build a high-quality client portfolio by effectively managing clients across the entire banking cycle.
Customers / Stakeholders
Deliver high-quality service by owning customer engagement and acting according to the highest professional standards.
Coordinate client plans and ensure respective support teams are in place with critical account objectives accepted.
Take a proactive approach to client planning across the Business Banking portfolio, collaborating with product partners and senior management.
Establish effective working relationships with Risk Management teams to validate customer risk profiles.
Identify problem relationships early and act to protect HFC interests.
Portfolio Management
Conduct reviews of deposit performance, addressing key mitigants and growth opportunities.
Continuously reassess risks associated with clients and inherent in the business, accounting for changing economic or market conditions.
Monitor accounts and work with relevant staff to reduce risk and implement retention strategies.
Operations/Compliance
Ensure the assigned portfolio is in full compliance with all Bank policies.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Business-related degree from an accredited university, preferably with a major in Economics, Finance, Marketing, and/or Products.
At least five (5) years’ experience in banking.
Proven experience of at least two (2) years in a similar position or at least 3 years banking experience with a sales/marketing background managing a portfolio of Business or Commercial/Corporate Banking clients.
Experience in product development and driving revenues for Business clients.
