Remote is looking for a Group Sanctions and Compliance Specialist to join their team. Role Overview
The Group Sanctions and Compliance Specialist will ensure Remote’s activities remain compliant with new guidance and regulation on sanctions, AML, and CFT. This role involves identifying compliance risks, advising on mitigation strategies, and maintaining robust policy frameworks across the global group.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure Remote’s activities remain compliant with new guidance and regulation on sanctions, AML, and CFT.
Identify compliance and sanctions risks faced by the Group and advise on strategies, systems, policies, and controls to monitor and mitigate them.
Act as a second-line escalation point for the onboarding and transaction monitoring analyst teams.
Support the wider Remote group with sanctions and AML/CFT risk assessments, advising as required.
Draft, maintain, and improve policies and procedures relating to customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), screening measures, business-wide risk assessments, customer risk assessments, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, law enforcement engagement, fraud prevention, anti-bribery and corruption, and sanctions compliance.
Produce training and knowledge sharing on compliance topics.
Coordinate and execute AML/CTF audits for the Remote group and manage day-to-day interactions with third-party advisors on compliance matters.
Responsible for ongoing oversight of the control environment to ensure the Remote group remains compliant with relevant regulations, internal policies, and good practices.
Keep abreast of regulatory changes and update reporting processes accordingly.
Requirements
Proven experience within compliance roles, ideally within the fintech or financial services sector, with demonstrable experience in Financial Crime and Sanctions Compliance.
Comprehensive knowledge of rules and regulations around AML, CFT, and Sanctions (knowledge across UK, EU, USA, and Canada jurisdictions is a plus).
Previous experience in financial services second-line Compliance roles; experience in first-line Compliance Operations is also a plus.
