The Geologist II position at the Water Resources Authority (WRA) is an entry and training grade for the geology cadre. Officers at this level work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer to support the authority's mandate as the lead agency in the management, regulation, and equitable allocation of national water resources. The role primarily focuses on the identification, mapping, and development of groundwater monitoring networks, alongside the maintenance of hydro-geological stations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Compiling, cleaning, and analyzing data for the preparation of technical reports and documentation concerning groundwater work.
Undertaking spatial analysis of groundwater resources and preparing comprehensive reports.
Evaluating hydrogeological reports submitted as part of permit applications.
Identifying and mapping groundwater resources within assigned areas.
Storing and managing groundwater data and information within the Authority’s database.
Constructing, installing, and maintaining hydro-geological stations.
Collecting groundwater data for analysis.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications is mandatory.
This is an entry-level position suitable for candidates with 0-1 year of experience.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve for a probationary period of six (6) months, after which they may convert to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration will be subject to the existing terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
