The Fundraising Manager for University Advancement at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is responsible for designing and implementing innovative fundraising strategies to meet and exceed annual revenue targets. Aga Khan University Hospitals are private, not-for-profit institutions providing high-quality healthcare and serving as principal sites for clinical training for the University's Medical Colleges and Schools of Nursing and Midwifery. This role involves identifying and cultivating prospects across various donor segments, including corporations, philanthropic foundations, and High Net Worth individuals, while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development: Design and implement innovative fundraising strategies to meet and exceed annual revenue targets.
Donor Cultivation: Identify and cultivate prospects across key donor segments, including corporations, philanthropic foundations, High Net Worth (HNW) individuals and families, private sector financing networks, and digital fundraising opportunities.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with existing and prospective donors, aligning their philanthropic goals with the University's mission.
Event Management: Plan and execute engaging fundraising events that deliver impact and success for potential donors.
Content Creation: Develop and pitch compelling fundraising materials (proposals, presentations, reports) that communicate needs and impact effectively.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with the marketing team to create targeted outreach initiatives for donor engagement and retention.
Performance Metrics: Monitor, analyze, and report on fundraising performance metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve objectives.
Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of fundraising professionals and volunteers, supporting Corporate Committees across the region.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Preferred Education: Postgraduate qualifications (Masters) and professional qualifications in Fundraising, Philanthropy, or Advancement are considered an added advantage.
Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in fundraising, marketing, funding, and financing, specifically within health and education training or service provision.
Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, and business development.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of donor landscapes, including corporate, foundation, and individual giving.
Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to analyze data, execute events, and adapt strategies to maximize results.
Leadership Skills: Experience in mentoring and inspiring teams.
