The Flow Measurement Operator is responsible for undertaking bulk meter installation and maintenance, flow measurement, data downloading, and instrumentation activities across the water supply system of Nairobi. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of water measurement tools to support Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction and efficient water distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake the installation, calibration, verification, and maintenance of bulk smart and mechanical production meters, inflow meters into distribution, and regional/zonal boundary meters (DN 300 and above).
Maintain flow meters, pressure loggers, and other instrumentation throughout the water supply network.
Conduct accuracy verification of bulk meters, production meters, and inflow meters into distribution.
Perform periodic flow and pressure measurements to identify abnormal consumption patterns, under-registration of bulk meters, or network losses.
Create awareness regarding correct meter handling, sizing, installation, and maintenance techniques.
Prepare monthly and periodic technical reports on flow measurement activities, bulk meter accuracy levels, and the impact on NRW reduction.
Execute any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
Certificate of Science, Technology, or Engineering in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering.
OR At least a Trade Test II in Plumbing or a related field from a recognized learning institution.
