Key Performance Areas
Fitting and Assembly: Fitting and assembling mechanical components, parts, and machinery according to specifications and technical drawings.
Maintenance and Inspection: Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical equipment, including troubleshooting and identifying faulty parts.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving mechanical issues and malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Fabrication: Using hand and power tools to shape and modify metal parts, involving cutting, grinding, and welding.
Precision Measurement: Using precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate fitting and alignment of parts.
Safety Compliance: Following safety procedures and regulations when working with machinery and tools.
Team Collaboration: Working with engineers, technicians, and tradespeople to ensure efficient operations.
Record Keeping: Keeping records of maintenance, repairs, and other relevant information.
Requirements
Academic Qualification: Minimum Trade Test Grade 3 from a NITA accredited institution. (A BA/BSc/HND level qualification is preferred per organizational standards).
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical fitting.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in the steel or manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
