The Field Services Officer will be responsible for coordinating field activities within the coffee sector. This role involves developing and executing work plans for farmer education and AGMs, facilitating training sessions, and promoting coffee production and marketing. The jobholder will also manage relationship marketing, secure agency contracts, and evaluate credit applications for growers and estates to ensure the growth of the bank's market share in the agriculture sector.
Key Responsibilities
Work Planning & Training: Develop and execute monthly work plans for AGMs, farmers’ field education days, and CMC meetings. Organize and facilitate training sessions for members, CMC, and managers.
Performance Monitoring: Provide regular updates to the CEO on outcomes and conduct quarterly performance reviews.
Market Development: Proactively market and secure Agency and brokerage contracts to increase market share. Review and renew auction and direct market contracts. Conduct marketing intelligence to promote coffee production, processing, and marketing.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze field data on coffee production for strategic focus.
Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain structured customer contact through visits, communicate sales progress, and resolve customer issues promptly.
Credit Management: Visit growers and estates for credit discussions, analyze applications, and evaluate repayment ability based on cash flows and coffee quality. Ensure proper recovery and documentation of credit requests and compliance with lending guidelines.
Operational Coordination: Liaise with the warehouse department for clean coffee deliveries and maintain the company motor vehicle in adherence to guidelines.
Requirements
Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, or Marketing.
Diploma in an Agriculture-related field is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in dealing with coffee growers.
Previous experience in relationship management and customer training.
Exposure to the coffee value chain.
Computer literacy.
