Baker Hughes is looking for a Field Engineer - LWD/DD to join their team in Nairobi. You will be responsible for learning, under direct supervision, logging-while-drilling (LWD) and directional drilling (DD) tool(s) and services as assigned. This role requires the ability to read well plans, execute directional drilling, and perform basic maintenance at the wellsite.
Responsibilities
Learning under direct supervision to operate logging-while-drilling and directional drilling tool(s) and services.
Reading well plans and executing directional drilling operations.
Performing basic maintenance of equipment at the wellsite.
Executing all responsibilities safely and according to work instructions.
Conducting business activities in line with Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance, and Core Values.
Completing all required training and development programs within the Applications Engineer - 1 Program.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
General knowledge of basic engineering principles and good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Ability to become proficient in running basic logging-while-drilling jobs/services.
Capability to work in a global matrix organization.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel to rig sites, customer facilities, meetings, and trainings.
Comfortable presenting in front of an audience of experienced peers.
