The International School of Kenya (ISK) is seeking an ES CAD (Elementary School Creative Arts Department) Teaching Assistant specializing in Music and Art. This role involves providing essential instructional and technical support to the Creative Arts Department, assisting teachers in the delivery of curriculum, and supporting students in their academic and personal exploration within the arts.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support: Assist teachers in the delivery of Art and Music curricula to Elementary School students, supporting inclusive learning environments.
Technical Assistance: Prepare and maintain specialized art equipment such as kilns, printing presses, and digital media tools.
Music Accompaniment: Provide piano proficiency and accompaniment for ensembles, and assist students in reading and interpreting music across multiple instruments.
Workspace Management: Manage materials and maintain an orderly, safe workspace in both art studios and music rooms.
Collaboration: Participate in collaborative planning sessions and contribute to a professional, ethical work environment.
Technology Integration: Support the use of technology and online applications within the arts program.
Educational and Foundational Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Education, Art Education, Music Education, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working with students and collaborating with teachers.
Fluent English speaker with proficient reading, writing, and communication skills.
Specialized Skills
Visual Arts: Working knowledge of diverse visual arts media, techniques, and studio materials.
Music: Piano proficiency and ability to accompany ensembles; ability to read and interpret music for multiple instruments.
