Infotrak Research and Consulting is a full-service research company founded in 2004, providing information solutions across the Pan-African market. We are currently seeking a qualified Enumerator for a project in Uasin Gishu. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting field interviews and using digital tools to record data accurately, with a specific focus on animal husbandry and livestock practices.
Role Purpose
The Enumerator will facilitate the collection of high-quality data from respondents in rural communities, ensuring that survey guidelines are followed strictly to maintain the integrity of the research findings.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection: Conduct interviews using digital questionnaires on tablets or smartphones and accurately record all responses.
Respondent Engagement: Professionally engage with respondents, explain the purpose of the survey, and ensure informed consent is obtained before proceeding.
Protocol Adherence: Follow survey guidelines strictly and ask questions exactly as designed to minimize bias.
Quality Assurance: Review responses to ensure data quality and clarify any inconsistencies before submission.
Device Management: Safely use and safeguard data collection devices (smartphones/tablets).
Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and handle all respondent information with integrity.
Reporting: Regularly submit collected data and provide progress reports or highlight challenges encountered in the field to supervisors.
Logistics Planning: Efficiently plan field activities, including coordinating travel to assigned geographical locations.
Problem Solving: Identify and report field-level issues such as non-response or language barriers to the project team.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Diploma or Degree in Animal Husbandry is required.
Experience: Previous experience in data collection or conducting field surveys is preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of livestock practices, including feeding, breeding, and disease recognition.
Digital Proficiency: Proven ability to operate digital data collection tools such as smartphones and tablets.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, particularly when interacting with rural communities.
Cultural Competence: A good understanding of local languages (relevant to Uasin Gishu) and local cultural practices.
