The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) is seeking to recruit ten (10) Statistics Officers II. AFA is a state corporation established under the Agriculture and Food Authority Act of 2013, mandated to Regulate, Develop, and Promote Scheduled Crops value chains for increased economic growth. The Statistics Officer II will be responsible for data-related activities concerning scheduled crops to support the Authority's objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Collecting data on scheduled crops.
Collating data on scheduled crops for detailed analysis.
Monitoring the status and trends of all scheduled crops value chains.
Conducting regular market research and surveys to inform industry decisions.
Archiving and retrieving statistical data as required to maintain a robust information system.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an candidate must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Mandatory Requirements (Chapter Six)
Shortlisted candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 by providing:
Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
Clearance from the Commission for University Education for degrees obtained outside Kenya.
