Enrolled Nurse III - 50 Posts

The County Government of Kitui is recruiting fifty (50) dedicated individuals for the position of Enrolled Nurse III. This role is crucial for providing essential clinical nursing care services within the county's health facilities. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, development and implementation of care plans, provision of basic healthcare services, and adherence to high clinical standards. This is a permanent and pensionable position.

Salary Scale and Terms of Service

• Salary Scale: Ksh. 23,700 x 1,040 – 24,740 x 1,070 – 25,810 x 1,090 – 26,900 x 1,110 – 28,010 x 1,120 – 29,130 x 1,150 – 30,280 x 1,170 – 31,450 per month (p.m.).
• Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Enrolled Nurse III will perform the following duties:

1. Assessing patients and clients to accurately establish their health care needs.
2. Planning and implementing nursing care interventions based on patients’/clients’ identified health needs.
3. Providing appropriate healthcare services, including immunization, ante-natal care, delivery assistance, and referring patients and clients appropriately.
4. Evaluating healthcare outcomes on patients/clients and preparing individualized reports.
5. Making appropriate discharge plans for patients.
6. Conducting assessment of school health needs within the service area.
7. Planning and implementing health interventions and preparing periodic reports related to these activities.
8. Maintaining comprehensive records on patients/clients' personal and health condition/care.
9. Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; ensuring safe custody for in-patients’ belongings.
10. Conducting home visits, following up discharged patients/clients and providing continuity of care.
11. Treating minor ailments as authorized.

Requirements for Appointment

Applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Hold a Certificate in any of the following disciplines from a recognized training institution: Kenya Enrolled Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Midwife, Kenya Enrolled Psychiatric Nurse, or Enrolled Nurse/Midwife.
• Possess an Enrolled Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Maintain a Valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Possess a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
