The County Government of Nandi is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Engineer II, Agriculture. This role is centered on implementing engineering solutions within the agricultural sector to enhance production, processing, and environmental management. The successful candidate will apply technical expertise in areas such as irrigation, soil conservation, and farm machinery to support the county's agricultural objectives.
Responsibilities
Apply agricultural engineering principles to enhance production and processing.
Utilize design and visualization tools like AutoCAD and GIS for project planning.
Participate in soil and water engineering projects.
Assist in the development of technical proposals for agricultural infrastructure.
Support resource mobilization efforts for county agricultural initiatives.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
A bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Soil & Water Engineering, Farm Power and Machinery, Bio systems, or another related field.
Registration by the Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) or the Engineer’s Board of Kenya (EBK) as a graduate Engineer.
Good design and visualization skills; proficiency in AutoCAD, Google Earth, GIS, and other design tools is an added advantage.
Computer literacy with knowledge of related computer packages.
Skills in proposal development and resource mobilization.
Excellent communication skills.
