Engineer II, Agriculture

Responsibilities

• Undertake technical engineering designs and visualizations for various agricultural projects.
• Utilize specialized software such as AutoCAD, Google Earth, and GIS for project planning and spatial analysis.
• Develop technical proposals for agricultural initiatives and infrastructure development.
• Participate in resource mobilization activities to secure funding and support for departmental projects.
• Provide technical expertise in soil and water engineering, as well as farm power and machinery systems.
• Ensure all engineering works meet established technical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate project progress and technical details effectively to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Soil & Water Engineering, Farm Power and Machinery, Bio systems, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Registration as a Graduate Engineer with the Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) or the Engineer’s Board of Kenya (EBK).
• Proficiency in design and visualization tools such as AutoCAD, Google Earth, and GIS (this is an added advantage).
• Strong computer literacy with knowledge of related professional software packages.
• Demonstrated skills in proposal development and resource mobilization.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
