Job Description
Mombasa County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit qualified individuals for the position of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). The successful candidate will work in an intermediate life support unit, providing critical emergency care and ensuring the safe transportation of patients.
Responsibilities
Work in an intermediate life support unit as an emergency care provider or an ambulance operator (driver).
Assess patient history, diagnose conditions, and plan and implement emergency medical care interventions.
Reassess patient outcomes regularly to ensure effective treatment.
Administer authorized medications as required.
Initiate basic intravenous therapies.
Provide autonomous basic life support interventions and supervised advanced cardiac life support interventions.
Maintain accurate patient care reports and keep comprehensive patient records.
Identify, manage, and refer emergency medical care cases.
Refer patients, experts, and specimens to appropriate medical facilities.
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma in Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medical Technology, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized training institution.
OR A valid certificate in Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced course or Emergency Medical Services Instructor course from the Kenya Red Cross Society or the Kenya Council of Emergency Medical Technicians.
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C, with at least a C+ in Biology or Chemistry and a D in English or Kiswahili (or its equivalent).
OR A valid Emergency Medical Technician - Basic certificate.
A valid class BCE driver’s license with Public Service Vehicle (PSV) authorization.
A valid practicing license from a recognized licensing institution.
