Sheer Logic Management Consultants is looking for a skilled Electrical Technician (FMCG) to join their team in Nairobi. The role is focused on maintaining and optimizing plant machinery, ensuring high operational efficiency, and adhering to strict safety and quality standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Execute planned maintenance tasks on plant machinery to prevent downtime.
Proactively patrol the factory floor to identify and resolve potential mechanical or electrical issues.
Install, service, and repair both new and existing equipment.
Attend to emergency electrical and instrumentation breakdowns promptly.
Calibrate CCP equipment such as metal detectors and X-ray machines.
Maintain date coding equipment and instrumentation.
Lead small projects and support low-cost automation initiatives.
Perform fault finding and programming on PLCs and VSDs.
Analyze and investigate recurrent faults to improve reliability.
Ensure repairs are done correctly the first time and machinery is available for production.
Comply with lock-out and permit procedures for all hazardous work.
Adhere to ERC standards and internal safety, health, and environmental policies.
Complete necessary administrative tasks for maintenance management (AMM, SHE, GSTDs).
Participate in new installations and continuous improvement projects using DMAIC processes.
Requirements and Skills
A Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
A minimum of two years of experience in the Electrical and Instrumentation field.
Must possess at least a basic EPRA Certificate.
Strong technical knowledge of PLCs and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
Proficiency in using SAP, SAM, AMM, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work shifts, standby, and overtime as required by company needs.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
Team-oriented with the ability to coach and mentor production staff.
