The Electrical and Electronics Technician will provide essential support for practical learning sessions within the Electrical and Electronics department. This role involves maintaining a safe working environment, managing tools and equipment, and assisting students and instructors during workshops.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical support during electrical and electronics practical sessions and workshops.
Prepare, issue, and maintain electrical and electronic tools, equipment and training materials.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, health and environmental regulations.
Maintain inventory and accurate records of electrical and electronic equipment and consumables.
Carry out routine maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic equipment.
Assist in the preparation of practical examinations, demonstrations and student projects.
Minimum Requirements
Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
Minimum KCSE Mean Grade: C- (minus).
At least three (3) years of relevant hands-on experience.
Computer literate.
Knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA).
Demonstrated ability to maintain electrical and electronic equipment and observe safety standards.
