Job Description
Frank Management Consult Ltd is seeking a qualified Driver Instructor to lead driver training and safety compliance initiatives. Based in Thika, this role is responsible for ensuring that all company drivers and equipment operators possess the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills for safe operation. The instructor will oversee the preparation of authorization documentation, conduct vehicle inspections, and manage driver databases to maintain high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Driver Training: Organize and conduct theoretical and practical training for drivers on the highway code, traffic rules, defensive driving, and road hazard awareness.
Documentation & Compliance: Prepare operator authorization documentation and ensure all authorized drivers, riders, and plant operators possess valid licenses.
Safety Management: Record and analyze annual road traffic accident reports per department to identify specific training needs. Investigate accidents involving company equipment and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Materials Development: Develop comprehensive driver training manuals and educational materials.
Vehicle Oversight: Conduct spontaneous vehicle inspections and prepare detailed reports on findings.
Database Management: Maintain and update the equipment operator data system and driver database.
Coordination: Assist in organizing training sessions across all departments and manage students on attachment and management trainees. Coordinate NITA (National Industrial Training Authority) activities.
Record Keeping: Ensure accurate and detailed record-keeping of all training and safety activities.
Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (BA/BSc/HND).
Certifications: Must have a valid NTSA Instructor driving license and an NTSA Plant Operator Certificate.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a driving or plant instructor.
Knowledge: Expert understanding of the highway code, traffic regulations, and defensive driving techniques.
Technical Skills: Computer literate with the ability to manage database systems.
Attributes: Strong attention to detail, highly conscious of road safety, and excellent instructional skills.
