Job Description
Bungoma North Technical and Vocational College (BNTVC) is a transformative institution established to provide quality technical and vocational education and training (TVET) aimed at equipping youth and adults with practical competencies, innovative skills, and entrepreneurial capacity for sustainable development. BNTVC is seeking a dedicated Assistant Supply Chain Officer Intern to support its procurement unit.
Role Overview
The intern will gain practical experience in procurement and supply chain management within an educational institution setting. The successful candidate will assist the procurement unit in ensuring efficiency, transparency, compliance with legal regulations, and effective records management.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and processing procurement documents.
Support supplier sourcing, evaluation, and regular follow-ups.
Maintain and update procurement records and registers.
Help ensure compliance with procurement laws and internal institutional procedures.
Handle quotations, prepare Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), and communicate with suppliers.
Provide general administrative support to the procurement unit.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management, or a Diploma in Supply Chain Management.
Foundational knowledge of procurement processes and regulations.
Proficiency in computer applications and good record-keeping skills.
Membership with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) is an added advantage.
Must be honest, organized, and highly attentive to detail.
