Job Description
Role Overview
The Digital Communications Intern will support KCDF’s digital storytelling and online engagement efforts by producing compelling multimedia content, managing digital platforms, and strengthening KCDF’s online presence. The role will ensure that KCDF’s work is effectively communicated through strategic digital content that increases visibility, engagement, and stakeholder participation.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Content Creation and Storytelling
Develop high-quality digital content, including graphics, videos, reels and photo stories, highlighting KCDF programmes and impact.
Translate field experiences and community stories into engaging digital narratives for diverse audiences.
Produce short-form digital content optimised for social media platforms.
Coordinate with program teams to capture human-centered impact stories from communities.
Maintain a content library including photos, videos, and testimonials from KCDF projects.
Social Media Management
Manage KCDF’s social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram).
Support the Communications Officer in implementing a monthly digital content calendar aligned with KCDF priorities and campaigns.
Monitor and respond to online engagement including comments, messages, and stakeholder interactions.
Grow KCDF’s digital audience and improve engagement metrics.
Digital Campaigns and Visibility
Support the design and execution of digital advocacy and communication campaigns.
Amplify key KCDF events, partnerships, and initiatives through coordinated digital messaging.
Analytics and Performance Monitoring
Track and analyse digital performance metrics (reach, engagement, conversions).
Prepare monthly digital analytics reports with insights and recommendations.
Use data insights to improve digital strategy and audience targeting.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Communications, Journalism, Digital Marketing, or related field.
Demonstrate a strong interest in digital communications or social media management.
Digital storytelling skills.
Social media management and content strategy skills.
Skills in graphic design and multimedia editing (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut or similar tools).
Basic video production and editing skills.
Personal Attributes
Creative and innovative thinker.
Passion for community development and social impact.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Self-driven with the ability to work both independently and in teams.
