Communication Intern (Journalist)

Responsibilities

• Content Strategy & Creation: Find and craft content that tell the story of the organization's key strategic priorities.
• Digital Updates: Assist with content development for email newsletters and updates.
• Blog & Web Content: Write content such as blogs and stories showcasing our programs, partners and team members for the organization’s websites.
• Social Media: Draft social media content for use across the organization's digital channels.
• Multimedia Production: Create new and unique content in multiple forms – written, image and video – and propel forward in proactive media outreach.
• Editorial Management: Research content ideas and maintain the editorial calendar.
• Media Relations: Update media lists and research appropriate contacts.
• Donor Communications: Assist with editing and/or writing content for donor reporting.
• Internal Communications: Support internal communication initiatives to strengthen teamwork and a sense of community among staff members, including internal and external team building.
• Information Management: Regularly update the organization bulletin boards.
• Impact Storytelling: Expand storytelling repertoire to include stories of impact, personal testimonials, local community stories, and visual storytelling to create a diverse and captivating narrative landscape that resonates with donors and inspires action.
