Job Description
The Embu County Government is inviting applications for the position of Deputy Director of Medical Services/Senior Medical Specialist, specializing in Neurosurgery. This senior role involves providing high-level specialized clinical services and providing leadership within the county's medical department.
Responsibilities
Provide specialized neurosurgical care and surgical interventions to patients.
Oversee medical service delivery and maintain high standards of patient care.
Provide expert consultation and guidance to other medical staff within the county healthcare system.
Assist in the formulation and implementation of health policies and strategic plans for the department.
Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and ethical standards in medical practice.
Mentor and supervise junior medical officers and specialists.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria and provide the necessary documentation:
A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from a recognized institution.
A Master of Medicine degree in Neurosurgery or equivalent specialization from a recognized institution.
Registration and a valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Demonstrated professional competence and high-level clinical skills in neurosurgery.
Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
