
National Legal Aid Service
The National Legal Aid Service (NLAS) is seeking to recruit a Deputy Director Corporate Communication. The Deputy Director is responsible for leading the corporate communication department, establishing communication policies, managing the public image of the service, and driving strategic stakeholders and media engagement.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n- Overseeing development, implementation and review of corporate communication policies, strategies, standards, guidelines and procedures;\n- Advising management on policies and strategies for promoting service visibility;\n- Overseeing development and implementation of NLAS communication and branding strategy;\n- Liaising with other departments to develop, package and disseminate information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials to stakeholders;\n- Developing, implementing and reviewing NLAS customer Service strategy;\n- Coordinating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes;\n- Developing an effective customer service charter and system;\n- Managing the corporate image of the service;\n- Establishing and managing linkages with other stakeholders;\n- Overseeing the development and implementation of departmental budget and work plans;\n- Ensuring prudent utilization of resources allocated to the Department;\n- Overseeing preparation of newsletters, speeches, publications and other materials;\n- Managing internal and external communication channels;\n- Undertaking staff training and sensitization on customer and public relations; and\n- Coordinating official communication with the media and coverage of NLAS’ events and activities.\n\n### Qualifications and Requirements\n- At least fifteen (15) years cumulative work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Assistant Director, Corporate Communication or in a comparable position in the Private or Public sector;\n- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Journalism, Mass Communication, or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;\n- Masters’ degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Relations, Public Communication from a recognized Institution;\n- Certificate in Leadership Course;\n- Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable;\n- A valid practicing license where applicable;\n- Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.\n\n### Remuneration\nNLAS GRADE 5: Kshs 202,875 to 357,313 p.m.
