County Chief Officer, Public Works and Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

• Departmental Administration: Oversee the day-to-day administration of the county department.
• Strategic Planning: Lead the formulation and implementation of programs designed to achieve Vision 2030 and specific sector goals.
• Developmental Oversight: Develop and execute strategic plans and sector development plans.
• Policy Implementation: Ensure the effective implementation of county policies and regulations.
• Policy Direction: Provide strategic policy direction to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Governance Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to National Values and Principles of Good Governance as well as Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
• Other Duties: Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the relevant authorities.

Requirements for Appointment

• Citizenship: Must be a Kenyan citizen.
• Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya. Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
• Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in a relevant field, with at least five (5) years in a senior or managerial position within a large organization.
• Professional Registration: Must be registered with a relevant professional body where applicable.
• Strategic Understanding: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of county development objectives and the Kenya Vision 2030.
• Leadership Traits: Must be a strategic thinker, results-oriented, and possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Soft Skills: Proven capacity to work under pressure, meet strict timelines, and work effectively in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity to diversity.
• Ethical Standards: Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the National Values and Principles of Governance.
• Technical Proficiency: Must be computer literate.
