The Taita Taveta County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit a County Chief Officer for Livestock Development. This is a senior-level role on a two-year contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership in the livestock sector, ensuring alignment with the county's development objectives and Kenya's Vision 2030. Serving as a senior manager, the officer will lead initiatives focused on productivity, policy implementation, and the efficient management of departmental resources.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic, proactive, and results-oriented leadership within the livestock development sector.
Oversee the implementation of County development plans and strategic objectives.
Ensure all departmental operations adhere to the values and principles of public service as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya.
Manage departmental resources and personnel efficiently to meet strict deadlines under high-pressure conditions.
Foster an inclusive work environment that respects multi-ethnic and multi-cultural diversity.
Coordinate sector-specific projects to promote livestock development and food security within the county.
Requirements
Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya regarding leadership and integrity.
Be a holder of at least a Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
A Master's degree in a relevant field will be considered an added advantage.
Have served in the Public Service for a period of three years in Job Group R (JG R) or have at least 10 years of experience at a Senior Managerial level in a large organization.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of County development objectives and Kenya's Vision 2030.
Have a distinguished career and relevant experience in the livestock sector.
Proof of registration with a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment.
