Job Description
The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) is seeking to recruit seven (7) Cooks. The successful candidates will be responsible for the preparation and production of quality food and beverages within the institution. This role involves maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene, ensuring food safety, and adhering to institutional culinary guidelines to provide efficient catering services to students and staff.
Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to the established menu and standards.
Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a clean and sanitary environment.
Maintain high standards of personal and kitchen hygiene as per health regulations.
Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and ensure proper maintenance.
Assist in the storage and management of kitchen supplies and food stocks.
Maintain documentation related to food production and handling.
Collaborate with the hospitality team to ensure timely service of meals.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must possess a Certificate or Diploma in Food and Beverage Production.
Must have a KCSE Certificate with a minimum grade of D+ (Plus).
Must hold a valid Food Handlers Certificate.
Demonstrate proficiency in institutional catering or a similar environment.
