As a Consumer Planning Manager, your purpose is to lead the total business with ideas and insights that drive growth. You will guide the organization in making strategic, commercially astute, and evidence-based decisions responsive to the evolving realities of our consumers’ and customers’ lives. This role involves generating consumer, market, and innovation insights that inspire big, strategic, and scalable ideas to drive sustainable growth in EABL-Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth: Identify and articulate strategic opportunities for growth across brands, categories, and markets.
Insight Synthesis: Synthesize insights from diverse quantitative and qualitative data sources, connecting them in meaningful and actionable ways.
Consumer Understanding: Uncover deep consumer insights and translate them into implications that drive innovation and growth.
Investment Productivity: Leverage measurement and evaluation findings to enhance the productivity of advertising and promotional investments in innovation.
Resource Prioritization: Prioritize resources rigorously, focusing on high-impact activities while delegating or discontinuing lower-value tasks.
Influence and Decision Making: Influence business decisions effectively, ensuring they are grounded in consumer and shopper insights and aligned with commercial objectives.
Organization Provocation: Challenge and inspire the organization by introducing consumer- and shopper-led provocations that drive meaningful change.
Market Vigilance: Maintain external vigilance on cultural trends, market dynamics, and emerging forces to anticipate factors that enable or constrain growth.
Team Leadership: Lead the Kenya planning team in identifying and pursuing innovative opportunities and building exceptional talent for the next generation of planning leadership.
Marketing Effectiveness: Enhance marketing investment effectiveness by embedding a culture of learning and applying world-class systems, tools, and capabilities.
Requirements and Skills
Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in research-related fields.
Education: Master’s degree in Data Science, MBA, MSc, or any other related field.
Leadership: Bold, influential leader inspired by proactively shaping business and future trends.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Data handling and manipulation tools, specifically Power BI as a minimum requirement.
Thinking Style: Innovative and creative but also intellectually rigorous—a master of both the art and science of Planning.
Collaboration: Truly collaborative team player who acts as an objective voice of reason.
Analytical Skills: Deeply curious about consumers and culture with proven experience in applying insights to drive brand growth.
Environment: Extensive and proven experience in multi-market, complex environments.
