Job Description
The Kenya School of Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (KSTVET), formerly known as the Kenya Technical Trainers College (KTTC), is a government institution under the Ministry of Education. KSTVET is currently seeking a qualified and registered Clinical Officer I to provide medical services within the institution's health unit.
Role Overview
The Clinical Officer I is responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic, curative, and preventive healthcare services to the school's staff and students. This role involves managing the daily operations of the health facility and ensuring patient safety and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting patient consultations, physical examinations, and taking medical histories.
Diagnosing and treating common ailments and managing chronic conditions.
Performing minor surgical procedures as necessary.
Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and other diagnostic investigations.
Prescribing and dispensing appropriate medications.
Maintaining accurate and confidential electronic and manual medical records.
Providing health education and counseling to students and staff on preventive health measures.
Referring complex medical cases to specialized healthcare facilities.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or a related field.
Must be registered and licensed by the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya.
Valid practicing license for the year 2026.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in basic computer applications for medical record management.
