Role Overview\n\nThe Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is seeking a Clinical Officer to be based in Nairobi. The role involves providing high-quality clinical care to research participants and ensuring study activities are conducted according to protocols and standard operating procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for participant safety, documentation, and the collection of clinical data within a research environment.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n* Provide quality clinical care to research participants and perform clinical procedures under the guidance of the site lead and/or the Principal Investigator (PI).\n* Supervise study staff and conduct study activities according to the protocol and standard operating procedures (SOPs).\n* Maintain study documentation, adhering to Good Documentation Practice (GDP), including reviewing clinical source documents and completing clinical assessment questionnaires.\n* Conduct post-procedure monitoring and follow-up assessments of participants.\n* Carry out specimen collection procedures in strict adherence to the study protocol and SOPs.\n* Assist in the recruitment and consenting process for study participants.\n* Attend and participate in clinical skills training, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) updates, and study-related meetings to ensure training logs are up to date.\n* Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the site lead or Principal Investigator.\n\n### Vacancy Requirements\n\n* Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (Mandatory).\n* Must be registered with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya (Mandatory).\n* A minimum of three (3) years of experience in inpatient care (Mandatory).\n* Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office software (Mandatory).\n* Previous experience in clinical research, recent clinical experience in pediatric care, and training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Research Ethics (Added Advantages).\n* Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work in a multi-cultural team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) e-recruitment portal at .
