Role Overview
The Clinical Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care by diagnosing and treating patients, providing preventive care, and managing common medical and surgical conditions. The role involves participating in public health initiatives and ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide patient care by diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.
Implement preventive care measures and health education for patients.
Participate in public health initiatives within the community.
Ensure compliance with all medical, regulatory, and ethical standards.
Collaborate with the medical team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Utilize computer skills for accurate data entry, clinical analysis, and report generation.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks to meet patient needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Qualification: Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
Licensure: Registered with the Clinical Officers Council with a valid, current practicing license.
Experience: At least one (1) year of post-internship experience in either a public or private hospital, ideally in a busy health facility.
Specialized Knowledge: Proven knowledge of non-communicable diseases (NCD) management.
Certifications: Must possess certificates in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Desirable Competencies
Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills.
Team-oriented with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and in stressful environments with resilience and compassion.
Strong analytical skills and self-initiative.
Proficiency in computer applications for medical reporting.
High attention to detail and precision in clinical work.
