As a Cementing Technical Support Engineer at Baker Hughes, you will be responsible for leading the technical preparation for cementing jobs by understanding customer objectives, well-construction requirements, and commercial conditions. You will analyze offset wells, historical data, and application hazards to anticipate risks and inform engineering decisions. This role involves collaboration across disciplines to ensure all technical constraints, operational considerations, and product selections are optimized for execution.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Preparation: Lead the technical preparation for cementing jobs, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and well-construction requirements.
Risk Analysis: Analyze offset wells, historical data, and application hazards to anticipate risks and guide engineering decisions.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work across disciplines to optimize technical constraints, operational considerations, and product selections.
Design & Documentation: Design cementing job programs featuring risk-mitigation measures, contingency plans, and clear technical documentation for field deployment.
Execution Support: Provide on-demand engineering input during job execution, communicating risks and design adjustments clearly to customers.
Evaluation & Improvement: Evaluate post-execution performance, document lessons learned, lead technical incident investigations, and recommend process or product improvements.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Experience: At least 3+ years of relevant experience in well construction, cementing, or technical oilfield operations.
Leadership: Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influencing capabilities with the ability to guide teams across complex boundaries.
Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage clients and present engineering recommendations confidently.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including proficiency with engineering tools for modeling, simulations, and data analysis.
Business Acumen: Experience working in a global matrix environment with an understanding of commercial terms and P&L drivers.
Availability: Ability to travel, support on-call operational needs, and independently manage technical deliverables.
