Rift Valley Technical Training Institute is seeking a Carpentry Technician II to oversee workshop operations, maintain equipment, and support practical instructional sessions for trainees.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain an updated inventory and oversee general maintenance of equipment and facilities within the designated workstation.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and optimal general layout of the workstation.
Issue and receive tools and equipment to and from trainers and trainees.
Report to section heads on delays, problems, material or equipment needed, and progress on practical requisitions.
Prepare and assemble practical materials for instruction.
Ensure safety of the workshop and all equipment.
Supervise and enforce safety measures amongst trainees and attachees in the workshop.
Carry out repairs and maintenance of equipment across the institute.
Requirements and Qualifications
Craft certificate in Building Technology/Carpentry.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with a reputable institution or organization.
Must be computer literate.
Registration with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) is an added advantage.
Must be above 25 years of age.
