The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring and managing clients for Background Screening, KYC, and KBY services. The role requires a proven sales professional with experience selling B2B professional services, compliance solutions, HR services, financial services, or risk-related products. This is not an entry-level role; the successful candidate must already understand corporate sales cycles, stakeholder engagement, and consultative selling.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Identify, prospect, and onboard new clients including: Employers & corporates, SMEs, Financial institutions, NGOs & development organizations, and Recruitment agencies.
Actively sell employment background checks, KYC services, and KBY & corporate due diligence solutions.
Develop and execute a sales pipeline with measurable targets.
Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and service packages.
Negotiate contracts and close deals in line with company pricing and policies.
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
Maintain long-term client relationships to drive repeat and retainer business.
Understand client compliance needs and recommend appropriate screening solutions.
Manage client onboarding in collaboration with operations teams.
Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy
Identify new market opportunities and partnerships.
Track competitor offerings and pricing trends.
Provide feedback to management on: Client needs, Service improvements, and New product opportunities (e.g. sector-specific screening packages).
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, HR, Law, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years’ proven experience in business development, B2B sales, or corporate account management.
Prior experience selling professional services such as: HR & recruitment services, Financial services, or Compliance, audit, legal, or risk services.
Demonstrated ability to close deals and meet targets.
Strong understanding of the Kenyan corporate and SME market.
Added Advantage
Experience in background screening, KYC / KYB / compliance, HR outsourcing, or recruitment.
Experience in financial institutions or fin-tech sales.
Existing corporate client network.
Knowledge of Kenya’s Data Protection and compliance landscape.
