CDL Human Resource is seeking a Branch Team Leader for their Eldoret location. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all branch activities including sales, stock control, customer service, and staff performance. The role involves ensuring the smooth daily running of the showroom while upholding company standards and policies, managing staff schedules, and monitoring performance to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations & Admin
Supervise all branch activities including sales, stock control, customer service, and staff performance.
Ensure smooth daily running of the showroom while upholding company standards and policies.
Manage staff schedules, assign duties, and monitor performance.
Ensure necessary documents are filled by design consultants according to standard procedures and dispatched to concerned departments.
Verify payroll sheets, manage employee leave records, and attend to staff queries regarding clock cards.
Ensure data accuracy within the system and oversee account cancellations.
Conduct follow-up on scheduled reports and update checklists.
Financial, Cash Handling & Compliance
Oversee cash desk operations and ensure procedures are strictly followed.
Monitor and manage debtors, including weekly review of unpaid accounts and following arrears procedures.
Assist in the formulation of budgets and cash flows for the branch.
Limit unnecessary expenses and manage petty cash.
Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and policies.
Stock & Inventory Management
Oversee stock levels to ensure availability of fast-moving furniture and décor items.
Coordinate with inventory, warehouse, and supply chain teams for stock replenishment and transfers.
Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations to maintain accurate inventory records.
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
Oversee branch security to prevent theft and fraud and ensure general safety.
Sales & Customer Service
Inspire the sales team to achieve targets through customer-focused strategies and service excellence.
Verify product codes match POS tickets and ensure showroom items are displayed correctly with right prices.
Provide excellent customer service and handle complaints tactfully.
Use marketing tools optimally to communicate promotions to clients and staff.
Monitor competitor activities and identify new business opportunities/threats.
Understand market needs and identify new geographical or industry sector markets.
Staff Management & Development
Lead, mentor, and coach branch staff to achieve both sales and operational goals.
Conduct performance appraisals and recommend necessary training.
Design and conduct regular team training on sales, customer service, stock handling, and company policies.
Plan and approve staff leave schedules.
Foster a culture of energy, people-centricity, integrity, and customer-centricity.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field.
CPA II qualification is an added advantage.
3–5 years’ experience in retail branch management or supervision, preferably within Motor, Electronics & Technology, Real Estate, or Fashion industries.
Strong knowledge of stock and inventory management.
Proven experience in showroom sales management and high-touch customer service.
Proficiency in ERP/stock management systems (experience with Odoo is desirable) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
